At the end of 2015, I kept hearing a date in my head, “April 17, 2017.”

Given that I know how intuitive directives work, and have lived my life with a promise to myself to follow them, I figured it was significant. What I didn’t expect was the statement that followed it… “That’s when you move to Europe.”

Uh. Wait. Huh? There was no talk of a move, no talk of travel, no nod to even dreaming of doing so. But it was too specific to ignore, and too audacious to set aside. So, I tell my husband, except, without the date.

“Hey, odd, but, I have been hearing this date in my head all week, and I keep getting we are supposed to move to Europe.”

He says, “No way! I had a date pop in to my mind last week and thought the same thought.”

“Tell me your date!” I demand.

"April, 17, 2017"

WHAAAAATTTTT?!

We both look at each other. First, incredulously. Then, determinedly.

I say, “What do we do with this information?” He responds, “Figure out how to move to Europe.”

So, we did.

Some called us brave, others foolish. Everyone always seems to have an opinion on a life that doesn’t belong to them. That’s their business, not mine. All we each need to do is live by our own truth, to note where intuition is guiding us next, and trust it enough to follow.

The journey began, with many unexpected synchronicities along the way that make this story even better. I will share those too, one day.

Fast forward to March 27, 2017. Everything we owned in 9 suitcases. Our 13-year-old cat and 5-year-old kiddo in tow. At the airport.

Many serendipitous events began happening as soon as we arrived, including someone reaching out to us with a potential place, soon after we were bombarded with naysayers noting how difficult it would be to find a place to live. Yes, you read that right. We had yet to secure a place to live before we arrived. Not for the faint of heart!

This woman had been following our story in an online group we were in. Her place hit 90% of what we wanted - furnished, in our price range, cat friendly, family neighbourhood around the corner from a huge playground, close to the city centre, and quite nice.

“Normally, I’d do the credit check and job contract, but I just have a feeling about you two, an intuition that you should live here.”

Rental contract signed. Keys in hand. Move in date? April 17, 2017.

Full circle moment!! Intuition confirmed. We had officially arrived.
